Some people in high society believe anything under them is below average. Today, there are so many different jobs in the world. Individuals who believe that one persons position in life is more valuable than others is, I think, mistaken! On the one hand, there are positions that require little education and hard labor. While others require much education and very little hard labor. Life requires all these different types of labor in order for the universe to exist!
We must have the less educated laborers to do basic jobs so the business of life can function. Without the heavy equipment operators roads cannot be constructed, buildings erected, airports built. We must have people to cook food for those who work and their time is too valuable to prepare their own meals. Others are needed to clean hotels and businesses. Drivers to help us reach our destinations and to bring food and supplies. Farmers to grow our crops to feed and clothe us. Some jobs require more education but receive less pay, even some comparable to menial labor. Sometimes ministers of the gospel, teachers, other educators, nurses, coaches, policemen, servicemen, etc.,are not respected as great contributors and are not compensated as well as they should. There are so many unappreciated jobs some which are thankless, but are greatly needed. Stay at home moms, for example.
On the other hand, some people who have lower paying jobs and little education resent and disrespect those who have worked harder, spent more time and effort, and spent more money in order to achieve greatness. Jobs which require higher educations are usually more highly respected and higher paid. And, I agree that people who take the time and great effort and expense to attend schools and colleges for many years deserve to receive more money because of the time invested in acquiring their careers. Without these engineers, doctors, lawyers, dentists, professors, veterinarians, managers, pharmacists, surgeons, etc., the other workers would be unprotected and less highly compensated. These highly motivated people are necessary to our society in order that we have a healthy, well ordered world. These dedicated people contribute their skills and ideas to our world, to make it a better please to live.
Working together, respecting one another and one another's skills creates a positive community. Choosing not to look down on others, because of their job and income will make a better world. Also, those who have less money, and respect for the job they do must be admired for their part in society. Being fair and equal with each other will promote better understanding of Christian ways, which we are taught all our lives. For example, if the highly paid people show love and respect, as we are told to do through Jesus Christ, to the lesser paid people we show leadership, compassion, and Christian values to the world. In the Bible, Mathew says "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 7:12 NIV)
